Four of
these rapid response vehicles above were purchased
in 2007 with money raised through fundraisers by the
dedicated and hardworking volunteers of the Toney
Fire Department. The fifth one, Medic 214, was
purchased in August of 2008. Thanks so much to our
great community and all of those who support this
department. All five are 2003 models and have
replaced all but one of our current fleet of 1993
models. You might ask what are these vehicles for?
All are assigned to an EMT and kept at one of their
homes. Each vehicle is equipped with an AED,
splints, C-collars, lock-out kit, and other
miscellaneous emergency equipment. These vehicles
serve as a first response to multiple types of
emergencies including EMS calls, wrecks, structure,
vehicle and grass fires, children locked inside a
vehicle, and numerous other uses. We feel these
vehicles provide an invaluable service to Toney as
well as our neighboring communities.
